Month In Review: June 2019

Month In Review2

Well June is at an end and it’s time for another review post. I didn’t do one for May so this will actually be a combined two-month in review post.

Let me start by saying things have been going a little slow here at Off The TBR. I kinda fell into a reading slump and I’m not sure why. It isn’t that I haven’t been wanting to read as much, I just have been reading at a slower pace. Some of that may be due to my son’s baseball schedule and being tired from work, but I don’t think those are big reasons. It really started in April just before the D.C. field trip with my youngest and I just slowed down after that. Can’t really explain it. Instead of my goal of reading and reviewing one book a week (roughly four a month), I’ve been closer to two reviews a month the last couple months. Continue reading

The Ninth Rain Read-Along: Part IV

ninth-rain-banner-e1557140521383

This month I’m participating in the Wyrd & Wonder read-along of The Ninth Rain by Jen Williams. I’m really excited the gang behind Wyrd & Wonder decided to put this one on because I’ve had the book for over a year and this finally gave me the push I needed to read it. The Ninth Rain is the first book in The Winnowing Flame trilogy. I’ll put the book blurb at the bottom of the post if you want to know more. Wyrd & Wonder is an online collaboration and celebration of all things fantasy in the month of May. I’ll add links about it at the bottom too.

This is the final read-along post for The Ninth Rain. I’ve really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to start book two, The Bitter Twins. The questions come from the book gods. I’ll try my best not to include too many spoilers, but it IS a read along and at some point there’s bound to come a time where I can’t avoid it. Hopefully if you’ve read the book you’ll get some enjoyment out of this. If you haven’t read the book I hope it sparks some interest for you and you’ll decide to pick it up.

OK, enough of that…on to the questions. Continue reading

On Thursday’s from now till the end of the month we’ll be posting responses to questions about the book. The questions come from the book gods (this week that would be goddess Lisa).
