Off The TBR_ Book Haul Post

One of my blogging goals for 2020 is to be to be more intentional about Book Haul posts. I’m aware that it’s possible nobody cares about the books I’ve bought or received, but I kinda like when bloggers post these because it not only puts new books in front of my eyeballs that I might not be aware of, but they also give me an idea of the blogger’s tastes. For my purposes a Book Haul post can include any book I’ve come to possess, not just those I buy, so arcs requested or just sent from publishers will be listed as well.

I managed to add…(checks notes)…eight freaking books to my TBR in January! See…this is how it works, I think I’ll catch up on my TBR and then nope, I acquire more books. Banebringer Review


Once again I’m impressed by the quality of self-published fantasy that’s being produced these days. This shouldn’t be something I need to comment on anymore because self-published authors have been putting out great books for years, but I’m saying it anyway. And Banebringer by Carol A. Park is yet another example of the kind of exceptional stories being written by these outstanding authors.

Banebringer is a little bit magic, a little bit dark, a little bit romance, and all bits enjoyable. Continue reading

Book Haul: Self-Pub Fantasy Month 2019 Edition


Earlier this week there was a sale going on for books related to the Self Published Fantasy Blog Off (#SPFBO). A bunch of self-published/indie authors got together and put their books on sale for $0.99 each. Most of the books were part of SPFBO5 that is currently underway, but there were a few books and authors from SPFBO4 that I noticed.

Anyway, what’s important for this conversation is there were a bunch of self-published/indie books on sale. This of course meant I had to buy some. Because you know, there was a book sale going on. It’s what one does.

I bought five books. I’m pretty sure at least one of these will be read and reviewed for Self-Published Fantasy Month in September though I haven’t decided which one or whether there will be more than one.
